Hello, my name is Miss Marianne Augenstein and I have been teaching sixth grade at St. Mary's since the fall of 2004. This year, I am teaching a combined fifth and sixth grade class. Teaching at a Christian school is something I always wanted to do, and I am so blessed to be able to teach at St. Mary’s!
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and English as well as a Master of Arts degree in Reading, both from SUNY Potsdam. I am an active member of New Hope Community Church in Potsdam, and I also have a background in dance and music. You can be sure that music is a big part of our classroom! I spend my summers volunteering at two Christian camps, Aldersgate and Casowasco, and going on short-term mission trips to Kentucky and Haiti.
Highlights of the fifth and sixth grade experience include hands-on projects, science experiments, reading buddies, service projects, a class play and an overnight trip to Camp Aldersgate! I also offer after-school mini-classes on knitting and Irish Step Dancing.
