Homework Policy

Homework is give for the purpose of reviewing, enriching and developing greater understanding of the material presented in class. Homework helps the child develop self-discipline and responsibility. The times allotted are given for an "average" student working diligently in a place for study at home. The times should not normally exceed these limits for students in the following grade levels:

Grade 1: 15 minutes

Grade 2: 20 minutes

Grade 3: 30 minutes

Grade 4: 35 minutes

Grade 5: 40 minutes

Grade 6: 45 minutes

If a parent finds that a student is experiencing difficulty in completing homework assignments, the parent should contact the teacher. Then the situation can be addressed by all concerned.

Parents should check assignments for neatness and thoroughness. A student will be kept for detention for repeated incomplete homework unless there is a note of explanation from the parent.
