Simple Machines in Science

The 6th grade has been learning about simple machine in science. For the past week, students have been building Rube Goldberg machines, learning about problem solving skills to accomplish simple tasks.

Canton Knights Coats for Children Donation

The Canton Knights of Columbus, Sarto Council 1059 has donated warm coats to St. Mary's School, Canton. This is the second year that they have provided warm coats for the children through their "Coats for Children Program". Thank you, Knights of Columbus!

The Saints Came Marching In to St. Mary's School, Canton this week. The Mulitage 2nd/3rd grade class presented their favorite saint to the school body during Monday Morning Prayer Service.

Developmental Disabilities Awareness Program Presentation

Laurie and Jim along with their life size puppets, presented an educational program to the Pre-K through grade 4 students at St. Mary's School, Canton, NY.

The Developmental Disabilities Awareness Program works towards the goal of facilitating an understanding and acceptance of people with developmental disabilities. The dialogue in the presentation discusses the causes and effects of disabilities such as intellectual and learning disabilities, autism, and cerebral palsy.

Veteran's Day Assembly

St. Mary's School, Canton honored the Veterans at a school assembly. The Sixth grade class recited the poem, "Flanders's Field." The students made cards and Christmas decorations for our adopt a platoon.
